Don't "Listen To The Generals" when they bring good news...

For years the Democrats have been repeating the same manta over and over again. They would sing "Listen To The Generals" every time they found themselves with a microphone stuck in their face. For example;
Democratic Sen. Joe Biden of Delaware on Jan. 18, 2007: “Mr. President, please change course. Listen to your generals. Listen to former generals. Listen to the Iraq Study Group.”

Joint statement from Reid and Pelosi January 19, 2007: As Speaker Pelosi said, the President's plan will receive an up-or-down
vote in both Chambers of Congress. With that vote, our hope -- our prayer
-- is that this President will finally listen. Listen to the Generals.

November 4, 2006: “The American people deserve a new direction from a secretary of defense who won’t listen to his generals on the ground and a White House that won’t listen to reason,” said Illinois Democratic Rep. Rahm Emanuel

And slightly altered take from Obama, stop listening...
"When President Bush says, 'I just want to give the commanders what they want, listen to the generals,' he doesn't understand how we work here in America. Civilians control the military and we are supposed to set the mission for the generals and then the generals should carry out the mission," Obama said.

Daily Presidential Tracking Poll - Rasmussen Reports™ Daily Presidential Tracking Poll Friday, March 19, 2010 The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Friday shows that 23% of the nation's voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Forty-four percent (44%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -21. That matches the lowest Approval Index rating yet recorded for this President (see trends). Each time the President leads a big push for his health care plan, his job approval ratings suffer. For Members of Congress, the impact may be more tangible. Just 34% say they’re more likely to vote for someone who supports this legislation. Fifty-percent (50%) are less likely to vote for a Member of Congress who supports the health care reform plan proposed by the President and Congressional Democrats.
