Sad but true...

It sad to say but Cindy Sheehan, you are a useful idiot!

"Useful idiots", for those unfamiliar, is a term coined by Lenin which describes those gullable, well-intentioned people in Western democracies who became apologists for the, shall we say, excesses of the new Soviet regime. These days it applies more to people like Cindy Sheehan who are co-opted (or corrupted) by groups like Code Pink and MoveOn.org to push their "Blame America First" policies.

Now I cannot pretend to understand the horrific emotional rollercoaster that Cindy Sheehan has been on. And if all she wanted was a meeting with President Bush to discuss her son's death in Iraq then that would be fine. But what is happening now has been perverted by the lunatic left for their own agendas. Unfortunately for them it appears that, once again, the left and the media has misinterpreted how the American people would react to Cindy Sheehan's "quest." She herself has been her own undoing with comments like these:
From Keith "I'm am so tedious" Olbermans "Countdown";

OLBERMANN: Last question. It‘s pure politics. The nature of the media coverage you‘re getting now, the response from other families of soldiers killed in Iraq, all of that, from the perspective of your protest there, in a way, isn‘t it really better if President Bush doesn‘t meet with you?
SHEEHAN: I would think so, yes. I think it‘s great. And if he would come out right now, it would really defuse the momentum, and I don‘t want to give them any hints. And I think that‘s something they‘ve probably already thought about.

And from an interview with Amy Goodman:

AMY GOODMAN: Cindy, what were your feelings when your son Casey went to Iraq? Are they the same as now? And what were Casey's feelings about the invasion and occupation?

CINDY SHEEHAN: Right. Our family was against it from the beginning. Casey was against it, but he felt it was his duty to go because he was in the Army. And he felt that he had to go to protect his buddies, to be there for his buddies, to be support, and they are brainwashed into thinking that even if they don't agree with the mission, they're brainwashed into just blindly following it. I begged Casey not to go. I told him I would take him to Canada. I told him I would run over him with a car, anything to get him not to go to that immoral war. And he said, “Mom, I wish I didn't have to, but I have to go.”

And I am not so sure that this one helps her cause either;
"We are not waging a war on terror in this country. We’re waging a war of terror. The biggest terrorist in the world is George W. Bush!"
So declared Cindy Sheehan earlier this year during a rally at San Francisco State University.

Sheehan, who is demanding a second meeting with Bush, stated: "We are waging a nuclear war in Iraq right now. That country is contaminated. It will be contaminated for practically eternity now."

Sheehan unleashed a foul-mouth tirade on April 27, 2005:

"They’re a bunch of f*cking hypocrites! And we need to, we just need to rise up..." Sheehan said of the Bush administration.

"If George Bush believes his rhetoric and his bullsh*t, that this is a war for freedom and democracy, that he is spreading freedom and democracy, does he think every person he kills makes Iraq more free?"

"The whole world is damaged. Our humanity is damaged. If he thinks that it’s so important for Iraq to have a U.S.-imposed sense of freedom and democracy, then he needs to sign up his two little party-animal girls. They need to go to this war."

"We want our country back and, if we have to impeach everybody from George Bush down to the person who picks up dog sh*t in Washington, we will impeach all those people."

That I am sure will win her many loony left supporters but how did that work out for John Kerry?

And then we have the joint statement from some family members that they are against what Cindy Sheehan is doing, that hasn't helped her either.

What is not ever reported is that Casey Sheehan REENLISTED in the Army voluntarily to continue to serve his country. So we are being asked to believe that Casey Sheehan reenlisted in the Army to serve a second tour of duty in Iraq even though he was supposedly against the war. Maybe he didn't agree with the war, we will never know. I don't know but I don't like the idea that she is now speaking for Casey as well as dragging his good name through the mud all for the good of her "cause".

And then we have her "statement" requesting privacy for her family. Interesting, she makes a statement asking for the media to respect her privacy all the time drawing even more attention to herself and her "cause". Her referring to the area where she has been camped out in Crawford Texas as "Camp Casey" and her referring to the other moms as "Gold Star Moms" who are joining her, it just leaves me with a kinda creepy feeling.

Finally a Rasmussen poll indicates that the American people are not be drawn to Cindy Sheehan's quest as the media would have is believe.

August 19, 2005--Cindy Sheehan, the grieving mother who maintained an anti-War protest outside of President Bush's ranch, is viewed favorably by 35% of Americans and unfavorably by 38%
