Katrina death toll may have been hugely overestimated...

We can only hope that the estimates of 10,000 dead by Mayor Ray Nagin may have been hugely over estimated, something I have suspected/hoped for. And so far Ray hasn't exactly been "on" with his statements. The death toll could very well rise dramatically but based on the totals from Mississippi and Alabama so far there is hope that it will be much lower than expected.

Of course the AP finds a way turn this into a controversy as well;
SLOW WASHINGTON RESPONSE

Advancing the notion of a catastrophic death toll may have helped get the attention of Washington, which has being widely criticized for a slow response.

Un-freakin-believable!
