NY times brings back the Jesse Macbeth lie in a piece that praises Media Matters

Media Matters Attacks ‘Conservative Misinformation’ - NYTimes.com
WASHINGTON — They are some of the more memorable slip-ups or slights within the news media’s coverage of the 2008 presidential campaign.

A Fox News anchor asks whether Senator Barack Obama and his wife had greeted each other with a “terrorist fist jab.” Rush Limbaugh calls military personnel critical of the war in Iraq “phony soldiers.” Mr. Limbaugh and another Fox host repeat an accusation that Mr. Obama attended a madrassa, or Islamic school, in Indonesia.

The NY Times again tries to promote the lie that Rush Limbaugh called soldiers who criticize the war in Iraq phony soldiers. He did no such thing. He has proved it beyond a shadow of a doubt be replaying the audio of the conversation he was having with a caller when this comment was made. He was talking about Jesse Macbeth the convicted and admitted phony soldier. How many times does the Times plan on lying this? Even Wikipedia, not the most reliable source of information gets the Macbeth story correct.
Jesse Adam Macbeth (b. Jesse Adam Al-Zaid,[1] in 1984) is an anti-war protester who falsely claimed to be an Army Ranger and veteran of the Iraq War. He lied in alternative media interviews that he and his unit routinely committed war crimes in Iraq.[2][3] Transcripts of the video were made in English and Arabic.[4] According to the U.S. Army, there is no record of Macbeth being a Ranger,[5][6] or serving in a combat unit: he was discharged from the service after having been declared unfit or unsuitable for the Army, or both,[7] before he could complete basic training.[8]
