How to win friends and influence people...

Heath Ledger, one of the gay sheepherders in "Brokeback Mountain," is upset about Utah and West Virginia not running his movie. He had a few interesting comments about it;
Ledger said he was not surprised a Utah cinema had banned Brokeback Mountain, which depicts a lifelong love affair between two Montana cowboys.
"I heard a while ago that West Virginia was going to ban it. But that's a state that was lynching people only 25 years ago, so that's to be expected," Ledger said.

"Personally, I don't think the movie is (controversial) but I think maybe the Mormons in Utah do. I think it's hilarious and very immature of a society.

Wonder if West Virginia and Utah will change their minds after reading Ledger's comments. I think not.

Funny how he bashes Utah and West Virginia for not running "Brokeback Moutain" because of its gay love affair, and yet he shows up at the premiere of the movie holding hands with Michele Williams, the actress who plays his betrayed wife in the film. Shouldn't he have been holding hands with Jake Gyllenhaal, his gay lover in the film? Wonder why he didn't do that. I guess because apparently he and Michelle Williams are now a couple, at least until the film finishes its run.
