Bruce Springsteen, working on a brain....

I really like Springsteen's new song "Workin On A Dream" but after reading this inanity I don't know if I can bring myself to buy this mental midges new album;
Bruce Springsteen: "We've lived through a nightmare like that in the past eight years here. We had a historically blind administration who didn't take consideration of the past; thousands and thousands of people died, lives were ruined and terrible, terrible things occurred because, there was no sense of history, no sense that the past is living and real.

"So the song is about this happening to this character. He moves ahead. He tries to make the right moves. He awakes from a vision of his death, and realises: life is finite. Time is with me always. And I'm frightened. And he rides west where he settles down. But the past comes back in the form of this bounty hunter, whose mind is also quickened and burdened by the need to get his man. And these possessed creatures meet along the shores of this river where the bounty hunter of course is killed, and his last words are: 'We can't undo the things we've done.'

"In other words, your past is your past. You carry it with you always. These are your sins. You carry them with you always. You better learn how to live with them, learn the story that they're telling you. Because they're whispering your future in your ear, and if you don't listen, it will be contaminated by the toxicity of your past."

Mark Hagen: So do you think that kind of nightmare is going to change? That to an extent America has now taken account of that?

Springsteen: "Yes, because, you know... the whole place practically has come crashing down. [laughs] Yes, there is severe accounting being taken of it right now. We're going through something that we haven't gone through in my life. Foreign policy, domestic policy - driven to its breaking point. Everything got broken.

"And the philosophy that was at the base of the last administration has ruined many, many people's lives. The deregulation, the idea of the unfettered, free market, the blind foreign policy. This was a very radical group of people who pushed things in a very radical direction, had great success at moving things in that direction, and we are suffering the consequences."

Yes its really hysterical that the country is in a recession right now. So funny funny that it won't affect multi-billionaire Springsteen one iota. But he can laugh about how it may be affecting everyday Americans who still are working on their dreams. Nice that he finds that so humorous.

    Oh man, you're too funny. You claimed to the last that the economy was super duper and when it really did come crashing down, you blame Bruce Springsteen simply of being rich when part of the problem are the filthy rich plutocrats who backed the tax cuts to the richest percentile of Americans. You're so mixed up in your thinking that it's not even funny. Your arguments change from one moment to the next, depending on whose opinions you're commenting.

    I'm no Obama fan but I am thankful to him for the fact that you're coming off as a humourless, vindictive, mean grinch while millions are celebrating on the mall. A good contrast to the two previous inaugurations with their crowds of protesters and general sour mood. But then again, you never were one for real democracy, were you.

  2. $170 million dollars for the anointment...where's the outrage? You are clueless when it comes to the reasons for the economy and its present conditions. Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, Chuck Schumer are the architects of the current economy. The tax cuts resulted in 53 months in a row of job creation and record revenue (but don't let the facts get in the way of your agenda) until the housing market could no longer sustain itself under its own weight thanks to the Dems and their "give everyone a home" scheme that Bush tried to fix 11 times only to be smacked back by the smartest people in the world. And now those very people are suppose to fix the economy? Ok, fine...

    I have no dog in that race. The expenses are excessive. I'm just glad I'm not laboring under the illusion that whatever happens in Washington at a given time is due solely to either Repukes or the Dems. You might for instance pause to ponder on the fact that the Obama and McCain team jointly lined up their administrations during the "presidential race".
