The #1 Issue

Energy is the issue that can turn this election decidedly towards the Republicans if they act decisively and quickly. The revolt in the House is an excellent start and now the Senate is getting into the act with the Gas Reduction Act of 2008. The Republicans now need to grab the bull by the horns and run even faster! If they can continue the momentum started by the House revolt by offering up solutions that the American people are demanding right now the Democrats will be pushed into a corner. They will not be able to accommodate the wishes the American people because they are beholden to the radical environmental left and their base. That will hurt them badly in the eyes of the voters if they appear to not care about gas prices of $4 or $5 or $6 a gallon. The Dems are trying to continue their stalling tactics of hoping to run out the clock believing that Obama will be elected president where they can then ram through their agenda with virtually no obstacles.

This Rasmussen poll confirms that;
RASMUSSEN:
"Americans overwhelmingly believe there is an urgent national need to
find new sources of energy
, and this need is more important that
reducing current energy usage, according to a new Rasmussen Reports
national telephone survey. With energy issues taking center stage in
the presidential campaign, 81% of Americans see development of new
energy sources as an urgent priority
. Only 9% disagree. For nearly
two-thirds (65%), finding new sources of energy is more important that
reducing the amount of energy Americans now consume.
Twenty-eight
percent (28%) think reducing current usage is more important."
They have the opportunity. What will they do with it?
