Michigan Republican Party to rally outside Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s book tour to send a message about high gas prices

LANSING - The Michigan Republican Party will rally outside of Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s book tour in Ann Arbor to send her a message about high gas prices. Speaker Nancy Pelosi adjourned Congress last week before it could vote on a comprehensive energy bill that would allow for more development of American energy resources. Republicans objected. Speaker Pelosi responded by ordering the lights turned off and the House gallery cleared just so she could begin her national book tour instead of taking up a bill that could help lower our dependence on foreign oil and lower prices at the pump.
WHO: Michigan Republican Party
WHAT: Rally calling on Speaker Pelosi to call Congress back into session now
WHEN: Tonight, August 7th at 6:30pm
WHERE: Downtown Ann Arbor, Corner of Liberty & Maynard
WHY: It’s time to tell Speaker Pelosi, “End your book tour and get back to Washington and vote on an energy plan that will allow Americans to develop American’s oil.”
