For the last time, HE DID NOT SAY THAT!

For all the shreaking and crying the dems are doing after President Bush's speech on Tuesday night they are now, again, trying to convince us all, with the media's help of course, (see here as well), that the administration is trying to link Iraq to 9/11. For the last time, he did not, has not and never did say it. The dems have been saying it and of course the media repeats whatever the dems say to be sure we heard it. They figure the more the repeat a lie it eventually becomes the truth.

Democrats on Wednesday challenged President Bush's claim that America must stay the course in Iraq because of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, but his backers said the link was justified.

``I feel compelled ... to set the record straight about why we got into this war,'' said Sen. John Rockefeller of West Virginia, top Democrat on the U.S. Senate Intelligence Committee.
``It had nothing to do with Osama bin Laden. It had nothing to do with al Qaeda. It had nothing to do with September 11th,'' Rockefeller told a news conference.

What a ma-roon!

You would think that the "leaders" of the party would know better since they did sign the Iraq resolution authorizing the President, at his discretion, to go to war. In case you don't know, here is what it said;

"Whereas members of al Qaida, an organization bearing responsibility for attacks on the United States, its citizens and interests, including the attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001, are known to be in Iraq:

"Whereas Iraq continues to aid and harbor other international terroist organizations, including organizations that threaten the lives and safety of United States citizens;

"Whereas the attacks on the United States of September 11, 2001, underscored the gravity of the threat posed by the acquisition of weapons of mass destruction by international terrorist organizations ...

Whereas Congress has taken steps to pursue vigorously the war on terrorism through the provision of authorities and funding requested by the President to take the necessary actions against international terrorists and terrorist organizations, including those nations, organizations, or persons who planned, authorized, committed, or aided the terrorist attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001, or harbored such persons or organizations;

Whereas the President and Congress are determined to continue to take all appropriate actions against international terrorists and terrorist organizations, including those nations, organizations, or persons who planned, authorized, committed, or aided the terrorist attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001, or harbored such persons or organizations;

Among those that signed the resolution are Harry Reid, Hillary Clinton, Charles Schumer, Chris Dodd, John Kerry (did you know he is a Vietnam Vet?), John "The Breck Girl" Edwards, Joe Biden and Jay Rockefeller. And these very same senators are running around screaching that the president lied, that he is trying to convince us that Iraq was behind 9/11, that there were no terrorists in Iraq until we got there.

The resolution is very specific in its wording concerning 9/11 and Iraq. You'd think these idiots would have read the thing before they signed it. It says "members of al Qaida, an organization bearing responsibility for the September 11th attacks...are known to be in Iraq." An organization! It does not say the specific members of al Qaida that executed the attacks of 9/11 are now hiding out in Iraq. al Qaida has always been there and still is.
