Maybe the article should be called "The Speech I Wish I Was Giving"

John Kerry has a piece in the NY Times today (where else?) which he says is what the President should say tonight in his prime time speech. What is unreal is there is nothing here that the US military isn't already doing but Kerry states it as if no one has thought of any of this. What a dunderhead. It's as if he is still running for President and still saying nothing useful at all.

One passage;
The administration must immediately draw up a detailed plan with clear milestones and deadlines for the transfer of military and police responsibilities to Iraqis after the December elections.


Excellent idea, lets telegraph exactly when we plan to leave. Great idea.

Another;
The administration must work with the Iraqi government to establish a multinational force to help protect its borders. Such a force, if sanctioned by the United Nations Security Council, could attract participation by Iraq's neighbors and countries like India.


Yes we can't go for long without getting the UN involved now can we.
