Howard Kurtz: Lipstick story is Drudge/Fox/New York Post driven

Howard Kurtz says;
The lipstick imbroglio is evidence that the Drudge/Fox/New York Post axis can drive just about any story into mainstream land. Does anyone seriously believe that Barack Obama was calling Sarah Palin a pig? What about the fact that McCain has used "lipstick on a pig" before? What about the book by that title by former McCain aide Torie Clarke? Never mind: get the cable bookers to line up women on opposite sides of the lipstick divide and let them claw at each other!

It seems to me that Jake Tapper of ABC News was the first to report that the crowd was "no doubt thinking" (that is until the entries was airbrushed) that the lipstick remark was directed at Sarah Palin due to the laughing that ensued even before the punch line was delivered. For Gods sake they stood up and cheered.

Forty-four percent (44%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -21. That matches the lowest Approval Index rating yet recorded for this President (see trends). Each time the President leads a big push for his health care plan, his job approval ratings suffer. For Members of Congress, the impact may be more tangible. Just 34% say they’re more likely to vote for someone who supports this legislation. Fifty-percent (50%) are less likely to vote for a Member of Congress who supports the health care reform plan proposed by the President and Congressional Democrats.
