Come on, is anyone really surprised?
So the much touted "Memorandum of Understanding" that the so-called Gang of 14 concocted has already broken down with the Dems now blocking a vote on John Bolton's nomination as US Ambassador to the UN. Is anybody really surprised? When are the Republicans going to learn that you cannot trust the Dems. When are they going to starting acting like the majority party. There was a cloture vote yesterday that was 56-42, 4 votes shy of the 60 required to end debate and move to the final vote. Sen. Harry Reid actually said:
I guess that they don't want to use the "F" word. They did reach an understanding a few days ago on filibusters, didn't they? So much for the new era of bipartisanship that Reid predicted. hey want more information? They guy has been in public service for over 20 years. He was confirmed by the Senate in 2001 as the Undersecretary Of State For Arms Control and International Security by a vote of 57-43, 50 Republicans and 7 Dems voted for him then. He was alright then he obviously has the votes now. Sen Bill Frist needs to step up and stop the madness now.
"We're not here to filibuster Bolton, we're here to get information on Bolton," Reid said.
