No it's not part of your responsibility...
I had an eye rolling moment when Obama said this during his Cairo speech;
Well it seems so did a lot of other Americans;
"I consider it part of my responsibility as President of the United States to fight against negative stereotypes of Islam wherever they appear."
Well it seems so did a lot of other Americans;
Fewer than one-third of U.S. voters (32%) believe most Islamic nations want to have a positive and peaceful relationship with the United States. A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 45% disagree and 24% are not sure.
In a speech last Thursday in Cairo, Egypt, intended to reach out to Muslims worldwide, President Obama declared, “America and Islam are not exclusive, and need not be in competition. Instead, they overlap, and share common principles - principles of justice and progress; tolerance and the dignity of all human beings.”
My eyes roll every time i read these ridiculous snippets of wise commentary.
ReplyDeleteAnd some are wondering why they lose voter support.
Really? Republicans are now trusted on the economy over Dems 45-39, on ethics and corruption by 6 points (a turn around from being down by 11), on immigration 35-29, on taxes 44-39, on national security 51-36, the generic ballot is all tied up. The only thing the Dems lead on is health care by 10 (although its down from 18), social security and education...
